However it's been forever since we've heard anything about those, so who knows. There's supposedly a couple big source-mods being worked on, to revamp the whole HL2 game-mechanics to make it more like HL:Alyx, in terms of VR interaction.

If I remember right, as soon as the Vive was announced, they took that dev-version down for some reason. When I made the original comment 7 years ago, it was still the dev-kit days, and valve had originally released a dev-branch version of HL2 and the rest, with VR support for those early Oculus headsets. Atmospheric synthesizer pieces enhance key plot and exploration moments and reinforce feelings of adventure, isolation, or melancholy to the player. Energetic techno tracks tend to back significant battles. Synergy also enables co-op multiplayer for the whole game, so that's fun to use at the same time as VR. Like u/The1_Freeman said though, unfortunately, the rest of the tracks are in 128 kbps MP3's if you do a direct game rip, save for perhaps one or two that I may have overlooked and don't already have in my separate music folder. They're just these little ambient stingers around 10 seconds long each that play during a few parts of the game to give them a little extra impact, as well as in Half-Life 2: Episode Two. There are only two soundtrack files I've come across in WAV format, which are titled as "Industrial Suspense 1" and "Industrial Suspense 2," or if you're looking for the original file names, "industrial_suspense1.wav" and "industrial_suspense2.wav," respectively.
